Union Minister urges citizens to use public facilities for better health

PANAJI

Union Minister Shripad Naik has appealed to citizens to make use of public facilities such as open spaces, walking tracks and jogging paths to stay fit and healthy.

He was speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of the newly developed open space and children’s park at SE“Old Goa on Friday. The project, undertaken by the Ella Crest Residency Owners Association, was developed at a cost of Rs 44,35,832 under the MPLAD fund.

Also present were Zilla Panchayat member Siddesh Naik, Sarpanch of SE“Old Goa Medha M. Parvatkar, Ella Crest Residency Association president Amina, Panch member Adv. Harshad Dhulapkar, engineers from the Public Works Department and a large number of villagers.

Naik said that over 1,200 public welfare works have been completed in North Goa under the MPLAD scheme, and these projects have received appreciation nationwide. He added that the MP fund is available for works with a social cause.

ZP member Siddesh Naik and Sarpanch Medha Parvatkar also addressed the gathering.
