A man from Uttar Pradesh has been arrested by Pernem police on Saturday on charges of sexually abusing two siblings in Pernem taluka.
According to reports, the mother of the victims, who are natives of Madhya Pradesh, filed a police complaint stating that the accused, who was in a “live in relationship” with her, had sexually abused her daughters, aged 15 years and 11 years.
According to police, the 15-year-old daughter was allegedly sexually abused by the accused in June 2019 and she was seven months pregnant.
The accused had threatened the victim girl with dire consequences if she disclosed and revealed about his sexual acts to her mother.
Since the last eight days, the accused started sexually abusing the 11-year-old girl and the incident came to light
when the younger daughter disclosed the matter to her mother.
Acting on the mother’s complaint, Pernem police arrested the accused on Saturday under Sections 376, 376(3), 506 (ii) IPC, See 8(2) of Goa Children’s Act and Sections 4, 8, 12 of POCSO Act.
Both the minor victim girls were sent for a medical examination at GMC hospital in Bambolim. LPSI Vibha Volvoikar is investigating the case under the supervision of Pernem PI Sandesh Chodankar and Mapusa SDPO Gajanan Prabhudesai.
