Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday called on industries to invest in Goa, highlighting the State’s robust infrastructure, investor-friendly policies and expanding business ecosystem.

Investment potential

Speaking at the inauguration of the two-day Vibrant Goa Global Summit, Sawant said Goa had developed high-quality infrastructure, making it an attractive destination for industrial investment. The State’s airports, seaports and road network were well equipped to support industrial growth, he said.

Noting that more than 500 delegates from 50 countries were participating in the summit, Sawant described it as a matter of pride for Goa. He said the summit offered a significant platform to attract investment, technology and innovation to the State’s industrial sector. He also encouraged entrepreneurs, particularly young business leaders, to explore opportunities to expand their enterprises into global markets.

Sawant said the government remained committed to supporting industry and creating a conducive environment for investment and growth. Rajya Sabha MP Sadanand Shet Tanavade, former Union minister Suresh Prabhu, Rajkumar Kamat and Hero Enterprises’ Sunil Kant Munjal were among those present at the inaugural session.

AI and jobs

Addressing the gathering, Munjal said Goa had established itself as a leading destination for tourism and hospitality and was emerging as a preferred venue for conferences and major events. Highlighting the impact of emerging technologies, he said artificial intelligence (AI) was rapidly transforming industries and could disrupt some traditional jobs. However, people equipped with the right skills and training would find greater employment opportunities in the AI-driven economy, he added.

Inclusive growth

Prabhu described Goa as one of the country’s most attractive destinations for investment and business. Praising the quality of the State’s workforce, he called on industries to expand their presence in Goa.

He also stressed the importance of inclusive growth, saying investments must benefit local communities and create employment

opportunities for Goans.

The summit is expected to provide a platform for forging partnerships, attracting investment and positioning Goa as a competitive global business destination.
