Victor Hospital launches PICU in South Goa

Victor Hospital, Margao launched a dedicated Paediatric Intensive Care Unit on Friday.

Victor Hospital, Margao on Friday announced the launch of its dedicated Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) — a significant milestone in paediatric healthcare services in South Goa.

Speaking on the occasion, PWD Minister Digambar Kamat, praised the foresight of Late Victor Albuquerque and the challenges he took to improve health care facilities in Goa.

He said Victor Hospital, over the years, has taken many initiatives in adding specialities and services, and the launch of the PICU is a further step in this direction and adds laurels to the hospital. Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai, while appreciating the launch of the PICU, that Victor Hospital has always provided exceptional service for all Goans.

The launch of the PICU marks an important step towards providing critical care services for infants, children, and adolescents requiring intensive monitoring and life-saving treatment.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Surabhi Baxla, Consultant Paediatrician & Neonatologist at Victor Hospital, highlighted the importance of timely paediatric critical care access in South Goa.

Also present on the occasion were Mrs. Sylvia Albuquerque, Chairperson & Managing Director, Alcon Victor Group, Varun Albuquerque, Director, Alcon Victor Group and Dr. Ajay Gangoli, COO & MS, Victor Hospital.
