The TCP Minister has further said that he has asked the Chief Minister to review all the permissions granted by the Investment Promotion Board, including the one granted for Vani Agro Ltd. “Vani Agro is a red category industry and a threat to the environment. If the government cannot review the permission because of any commitment, I have asked the CM to shift the brewery to an Industrial estate,” Vijai said.
While ruling out the possibility of having any tie-up with the Congress in the Rajya Sabha election, Sardesai reminded the media that the Goa Forward is now part of the NDA, adding that the party cannot have a separate candidate for the Rajya Sabha seat. “Many people are waiting for the government to fall, but they will not succeed since the government has been formed with Goemkarponn in mind.”
When pointed out that the Congress is optimistic of garnering support of the Goa Forward party for the candidate backed by the party, Sardesai shot back “why should we support the Congress backed candidate when the Goa Forward is part of the government. We are sincerely working with the government and we are confident that the government will not push a candidate down the throat of the alliance partners.”
“We have to be clear that the BJP cannot win the Rajya Sabha seat with 12 members and neither can the Goa Forward win the seat with three members. It’s only when 12 plus three, plus other members join together, we can win the seat,” he asserted.
