By building trust with customers and maintaining credibility in the jewellery trade, Vikram Verlekar rose to success while embracing modern methods and technology, said Public Works Minister Digambar Kamat. He was speaking at the “Daivadnya Bhoumanest” programme organised by Daivadnya Samaj Margao, where Verlekar, owner of Ulhas Jewellers, was honoured with a shawl, coconut, memento and citation.
Sharing his journey, Verlekar said opportunities come only once and must be seized with courage. He stressed that success is driven by determination and that trust remains the foundation of his achievements. He also encouraged entrepreneurs to build their own brands instead of relying on franchises, emphasising the importance of identity in business. Addressing youth, he highlighted the lasting value of education in a rapidly changing world.
The programme began with a welcome and introduction by Daivadnya Samaj President Ramakant Raikar, who also announced the title. A documentary on Verlekar’s life was screened, followed by an interview conducted by Priyanka Otavnekar and Vallabhdas Raikar. Speeches were delivered by several dignitaries. The citation was read by Yogita Vernekar, while Gaurish Vernekar compered the event and Kishore Rivankar proposed the vote of thanks.
