Vishwajit: All areas in Sattari to be developed as sub-towns

Health Minister and Valpoi MLA Vishwajeet Rane has said his dream is to develop all parts of Sattari taluka as sub-towns with all amenities.  

Addressing a gathering at the Forest Training School Complex auditorium after unveiling the foundation stone for the modern fire station at Valpoi on Tuesday morning, Rane said a number of projects have been launched in the area in the last few days, while some had also been completed.  

“The modern fire station is a unique project in Goa with Japanese technology and advanced machinery. Over Rs 7 crore will be spent for this project with the help of Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation,” informed Rane.  

Briefing the gathering about upcoming projects in Sattari Taluka, Rane said almost Rs 80 crore will be utilised to hotmix all internal roads in different parts of Sattari.  

“The land revenue office will be commissioned on January 26, while the RTO office will also be thrown open to public before February end,” said the minister.  

Speaking on the occasion, VMC chairperson Akhtar Shah said Valpoi will be developed with many advanced facilities with the strong backing of Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane and appealed to people of Sattari taluka to be a part of this development plan.  

Those present at the function included Fire Services Deputy Director Nitin Raikar, ZP member Fati Gaonkar, VMC Vice Chairperson Sarfaraj Syed, Councillors Ramadas Shirodkar, Anil Katkar, Parveen Shaikh, Parveen Khan and Anjali Chari, and social worker Vinod Shinde.
