Senior MGP leader and Marcaim MLA Sudin Dhavalikar has assured to simplify the ‘The Goa Mundkars Act 1975’ and ‘The Goa Daman and Diu Agriculture Tenancy Act 1964’ if his party came into power at the next elections.
Speaking at a function to inaugurate self-help group at Kavale Panchayat hall, the former PWD minister said his Madhavrao Dhavalikar Charitable Trust had helped many to fight the ‘mundkarial’ cases.
“Both these acts were done by first chief minister Bhausaheb Bandodkar, but the implementation of these acts did not take place in the manner they should have been done. Hence, I promise to simplify these acts and give justice to all mundkars,” Dhavalikar said.
According to Dhavalikar, there are many mundkars in his own constituency. “We have even helped people by providing advocates to fight their cases,” he said.
On Saturday, he inaugurated 20 self-help groups, two of which are from Shiroda constituency. Last June, eight self-help groups from Shiroda were inaugurated in Kavale by Dhavalikar.
ZP Chitra Phadate, Kavale Sarpanch Rajesh Kavalekar, Bandora Sarpanch Nayan Naik, panch member Santosh Phadate, Rajesh Naik, Marcaim Sarpanch Yogesh Gaude, Wadi Talaulim Sarpanch Dilesh Gaonkar and others were present on the occasion.
Dhavalikar said the self-help groups were formed with the motto that womenfolk learn and promote several activities and boost development.
Rajesh Kavalekar said that there is strong pitch that Sudin Dhavalikar should become chief minister of Goa. “We can bring this into reality if we support MG Party and its leaders,” Kavalekar said.
