Assuring to give priority to solve the pending issues of the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) at Valpoi, North Goa Collector Ajit Roy has stated that has said the widening and electrification of the road leading to the school would be taken up shortly.
Roy was addressing a meeting of the JNV school management committee, the principal and a group of teachers to discuss in detail the problems confronting the JNV and to review various other works.
The school management committee has put forth a number of grievances and has even submitted a memorandum to the government in this connection.
The committee said the road leading to the school is very narrow, making it difficult for vehicles to travel to and from the school and there has been a demand to widen the road and to provide electrification along the route. The district collector assured that this work would be approved soon.
The committee wants the government to resolve the land issue on priority, but there has been no solution as yet.
The collector said development works of the school have been sanctioned at different levels and said these works would be expedited. He also assured to give priority to resolve the land dispute which has been pending for several years.
