MARGAO:
This question was posed by the media to Churchill’s supporters at a briefing when they all urged the MLA-elect to support the Parrikar-led government. “We have nothing to say on the Louis Berger case since the matter is sub judice and the law will take its own course,” remarked Churchill’s close aide Elvis Gomes.
The Louis Berger question assumed significance and comes against the backdrop of the fact that Churchill had blamed the then BJP government for foisting a false case against him and putting him behind bars in order to checkmate his growing influence not just in Benaulim, but also other parts of the State.
