As part of the ongoing Village Development Programmes running from October 2 to 16, the Calangute constituency witnessed a successful women empowerment training programme aimed at fostering confidence, leadership, and self-reliance among local women. The initiative, which is part of a broader effort to promote inclusive community development, saw the active participation of 64 women from the constituency.

The programme is designed to equip women with the skills and mindset necessary to take on leadership roles within their communities and contribute meaningfully to local development efforts.

The training sessions were led by distinguished trainers from JCI India, including Head Coach Sachin Kurtikar, National Trainer Sharmila Valavalkar, Adv. Mamta Naik, and Adv. Neelam Narvekar.

Their interactive and engaging sessions focused on developing personal confidence, leadership qualities, and self-reliance, combining learning with practical exercises to make the experience both educational and enjoyable.

Participants lauded the sessions for their hands-on approach and reported gaining valuable insights that would help them in personal and professional spheres.

The programme concluded on a high note, with participants expressing eagerness to engage in future development initiatives and community empowerment programmes.

This initiative is part of a continuing effort by local authorities and development organisations to strengthen the role of women in shaping sustainable and inclusive community growth in the region.
