CANACONA
The work order has been issued for the design and construction of a 5 MLD Water Treatment Plant (WTP) at Gaunem in Gaondongrim-Canacona. The work order, including operation and maintenance for 5 years, has been issued to Bagkiya Construction Pvt. Ltd for an amount of Rs 27.58 crore, which is below the estimated cost of Rs 28.43 crore and without consideration of GST.
Issuing the work order, the executive engineer has directed the party concerned to start the work at once, as the time limit for completion is 540 days including the monsoon period, with the date of commencement being September 5 and the date of completion February 26, 2027. “This project will ensure a reliable and sustainable water supply system for the people of Canacona,” stated the office of the newly inducted Minister and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar.
