Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar has said that dedicated and committed workers are the backbone of the Congress party.
“It is only on the strength of Congress workers that the party has overcome serious challenges. Our party has marched ahead and has played an important role in protecting the secular fabric of India,” he said, while speaking at the Congress Foundation Day function organised at South Goa District Congress Office.
Senior Congress loyalists Mariano Olivera ( Cuncolim), Caetano Jose Faria (Nuvem), Shyamsundar Bhende (Margao), Shaikh Abdul Sattar (Aquem Baixo), Domingos Mascarenhas (Sao Jose de Areal) were felicitated at the function.
Leader of Opposition, Digambar Kamat said, “It is only the Congress party which can protect the integrity and sovereignty of India. It is the Congress ideology and vision which has helped our country emerge as a strong nation in the world,” he added.
South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha said it is the vision of the Congress leadership and forefathers that helped India gain freedom from the British rule. The contribution of our workers has helped in building the nation, he added.
