Workshop for bhajani contest
MARGAO:Ahead of the Vth Konkani Bhajani competition scheduled to be held on October 9, Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, has organised a workshop to guide participants interested in the competition.
A press release issued by Ravindra Bhavan chairman, Damodar Naik informs that renowned bhajani singers from the State will be the resource persons at this workshop.
All material such as CDs of abhangs, etc, will be provided at the venue.
The competition will be held in three categories - male, female and children, and the prize distribution will be held on the same day. More details can be obtained on [email protected].
Book release of Marathi drama
MARGAO: Senior academician and veteran stage personality, Bhiku Pai Angle will be the chief guest on the occasion of the book release of Marathi drama 'Sangeet Parshu-Gatha' penned by Damodar Kanekar.
The function, slated for September 17, at 5 pm at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, will witness Ravindra Bhavan chairman Damodar Naik releasing the book while Angle will articulate his views about the book, adds a press release issued by the organisers.
Material worth Rs 2.25 lakh stolen
MARGAO: Unidentified persons committed theft of telecommuncation wires worth Rs 2.25 lakh from Dandewadi junction.
According to Cuncolim police, the incident occurred between September 6 to 10 where the complainant, one Preston Rodrigues, resident of Majorda, claimed that the aforementioned telecommunication wires stored by the highway at Dandewadi junction and comprising of ducts of various specifications and sizes, all worth Rs 2.25 lakh, was stolen by unidentified persons.
Cuncolim police have registered an offence under Section 379 of IPC. Further investigations are in progress.
