Panaji rrIn his latest Facebook post, the WRD Minister has stated: “I have directed my Water Resources Department that henceforth there shall be no foundation stone or inauguration ceremony for works of Rs one crore and below. Lakhs of State Government fund are wasted in inaugurations and foundation stone ceremony. We need to stop this trend of wasteful expenditure of public funds.” rInstead, he is of the opinion that the same money could be utilised to take up additional developmental works. r“Instead of wasting lakhs of rupees on the foundation stone laying and inauguration ceremonies, we could utilise the same money for developmental works and make necessary improvements in the State’s infrastructure,” said Paliencar.
