It may be recalled that yoga instructor and masseur, Pratik Agrawal, a native of Surat-Gujarat, was arrested on charges of sexually assaulting the USA woman on the pretext of giving her a massage.
According to police sources, the accused Pratik, who claims to be a ‘Chaitanya Yogi’, had started an online portal for yoga training and massaging centre. He had started his centre in a rented room at Korgao and used to collect a fee of Rs 25,000 for massage and yoga training, informed sources.
Sources further said the accused used to take some women to the nearby forest and teach them yoga under trees. However, some women decided to leave the yoga courses after being unhappy with Pratik’s behaviour, police added.
According to the School of Holistic Yoga & Ayurveda website, the instructor claimed to be a Yoga Teacher, Yoga Therapist, Vedic Astrologer and Ayurveda Healer & Trainer, who has reportedly “taught in many yoga and spiritual ashrams and working as a full time lead teacher and course coordinator in SOHYAA Goa.”
The instructor also claimed to have been specialized in classical Hatha, Kundalini Kriya Yoga, Yoga Philosophy, Yoga Therapy, Asanas, Meditation and Pranayama.
“He is also a competent Ayurvedic Therapist and Trainer specialized in various massage and healing therapies. He has mastery over Pranic and Mudra therapy as well. He is a distinguished holistic healer and Vedic astrologer (Jyotish) for more than 10 years,” claimed the website.
Pernem Police is investigating the case.
