Youth arrested on rape charges
PERNEM: Pernem Police on Tuesday arrested a youth on charges of raping a girl on the pretext of giving her a lift on a two wheeler.
According to Pernem PI Sanjeev Dalvi, the incident took place on November 13, at 8.45 pm when the victim girl was waiting for a bus near the Colvale bridge. The accused offered the girl a lift on his two wheeler and later took her to an isolated place and allegedly raped her.
Acting on the complaint, Pernem Police arrested the accused under Sections 376, 506 of IPC and is investigating the case.
