CANACONA
A youth from Rajbagh-Tarir in Canacona died while two others were seriously injured in a self-mishap involving a jeep near the Chapoli dam in Canacona in the wee hours of Saturday.
According to sources, the incident took place as Ravish Komarpant (26) was reportedly driving the Karnataka-registered jeep, with a woman from Indore and a man from Bangalore as passengers, towards Chapoli village at about 3.30 am.
The vehicle rammed into a roadside boulder, turned turtle, and narrowly missed falling into a gorge near the Chapoli dam.
Komarpant is believed to have died on the spot, while the two other occupants in the vehicle were seriously injured and were shifted to the South Goa District Hospital in Margao.
Canacona police is conducting investigations into the incident.
