PERNEM:
A motorcycle rider from Siolim was killed in a road mishap near the Tuem petrol pump on Tuesday morning.
The incident took place at about 10.30 am when a car was turning to fill petrol at the petrol pump, while a motorcycle driven by Raj Pednekar (25) was in the opposite direction.
Pednekar sustained grievous injuries and died on the spot.
A Mandrem police team conducted the panchanama of the accident and later arrested the car driver, Saurav Gudekar of Vengurla-Maharashtra.
Pednekar, a native of Bicholim, had been working as a garage operator for some time. He is survived by his mother and a younger brother, who had gone to answer his HSSC exams at the time of the incident.
