MARGAO:“Shamshananthlim Bhashnan” a book written by city-based businessman, author and thinker, Datta Damodar Naik was released at the hands of Chairman of Fomento Group of Companies, Auduth Timblo at the Ravindra Bhavan, Margao on Wednesday.
In his brief address, Timblo complimented Datta, saying the writer is a genius having combined both tragedy and comedy in his literary works. “The latest book has both wit and humour. I can only say that Datta is a genius,” he said.
Timblo said books centred on humour, such as Shamshananthlim Bhashnan comes in handy for people when the economy is down and people begin to wonder when Goa will come out of the debt. “A Spanish writer had penned humorous books when the economy was down in Spain. People may need books centred on jokes and touches of humour to forget the bad situation staring at them,” he added.
In his address, Datta pointed out that humorous writings against the ruling dispensation at the centre and state may be a way to expose the prevailing situation in the country. “When serious writings have an impact on the BJP and leaders such as Amit Shah, humour may help bring out the real situation facing the country,” Datta said.
