As a part of the silver jubilee celebrations of the organisation, Panvelkar Kala and Sanskrutik Mandal will be felicitating around 150 individuals from all walks of life on the Republic Day, January 26 at Vitthal Mandir complex in Panvel-Ribandar.
An eventful celebration on that day will keep the audiences entertained from 10 am to 8 pm. The felicitation will be held at the end of the day's celebrations wherein the past presidents of the Mandal, artists, writers, journalists and other dignitaries will be felicitated for their contribution to the society. Vitthal Mandir Devasthan president Sudesh Valvaikar, former president Shivdas Naik, Giant Group executive chairman Rajendra Kamat, Jaikumar Amonkar, Paresh Bandodkar, Nilesh Gaonkar, Nitin Naik, and the current president of the organisation Sandip Naik will inaugurate the programme followed by a fancy dress competition for children from the local area.
The winners of this competition will be awarded prizes worth Rs 2000 (first), Rs 1500 (second) and Rs 1000 (third) along with consolation prizes of Rs 5 each to five contestants, memento and certificates. All India Solo Dance competition for youth will be held at 12 pm for children above 14 years. The contestants will be enrolled on first come first basis and a maximum of 20 participants will be allowed to present their dance skills.
The prizes for the winners will be Rs 4000, Rs 3000, Rs 2000 and five consolation prizes of Rs 500 each, along with memento and certificate. Those who wish to participate in these contests can register their names with Sandip Naik (9890495786) (9822130123) and Mahendra Bandodkar (9604250237).
Rohit Monserrate, Mayor of Panaji CCP will be the chief guest of the ceremony along with Sagar Javdekar as guest of honour. Former Mayor Vitthal Chopdekar, councilor Silvestor Fernandes, Ribandar MLA Sandra D'Cunha, former sarpanch of Old Goa Nilkant Bhompakr, artist Sagar Naik Mule will also participate in the function.
