The Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC) conducted a record of 20 Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meetings on a single day on Wednesday to consider promoting officials from various government departments.
Officers from the Directorate of Museums were promoted to the position of Curator and Conservator respectively while an official was promoted to the position of Librarian in the Department of Art and Culture.
In other sets of promotions, the position of Assistant Director of Tourism was filled in while three officials were promoted to the position of Assistant Divisional Officer in the Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services. At the Goa Medical College, promotions to the positions of Assistant Professor in Physiotherapy and Assistant Professor in occupational therapy were recommended while in the Law Department; one official was promoted to the position of Civil Registrar cum Sub Registrar on officiating basis.
Probation period and confirmation were recommended for officials from the Dental College, Department of Higher Education, Directorate of Health Services and the Administrative Reforms Department.
“A total of around 50 officials were recommended for promotions as well as for lifting of probation and confirmation at the meetings held today (Wednesday),” said GPSC Chairman Jose Manuel Noronha, who chairs the DPC meetings while Chief Secretary and Administrative Secretary are its members as per the recruitment rules in vogue.
