The chief minister also said the State government has decided to tie up with a central government agency to grow five lakh trees at the Mopa airport site.
“The State government has taken the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE) on board to grow five lakh trees surrounding the Mopa airport site. This is to compensate for the trees that were cut to make way for the airport,” Sawant said.
He further informed that the trees will also be looked after by the ICFRE in the future.
