The Aquem Comunidade, which had initiated the complaint against the illegal structures at Moti Dongor over a decade ago, has questioned the proposed rehabilitation plan of the migrant inhabited area unveiled by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
Aquem Comunidade Attorney Celestin Norohna pointed out that the matter is sub-judice with the appeal by the residents pending in the High Court, asserting the Comunidade will have no option than to take legal recourse if attempt is made to bulldoze with the rehabilitation plan.
He has sought to know whether the residents will be rehabilitated at the same site or shifted to some other place. “We have no idea over the rehabilitation plan for Moti Dongor. The Aquem Comunidade has been kept in the dark over the plan. As far as we know, we are waiting for the High Court to dispose the appeal filed by the residents”.
He said the Aquem Comunidade will take legal recourse if any such rehabilitation plan is foisted on the people of Margao.
