MARGAO
Members of the Hindu outfit Bajrang Dal on Thursday evening burnt the effigy of Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, outside the South Goa Congress office.
Bajrang Dal leaders Viraj Desai and former MLA Mohan Amshekar along with workers raised slogans against Rahul Gandhi and the Congress for linking the Hindu community with violence.
“This should be an eye opener for the Hindus who have voted for the Congress party in the 2024 Lok Sabha election," Desai thundered. He said the Congress should not test the patience of the Hindu community, warning that the Bajrang Dal will not remain silent spectators if the Congress does not stop targeting the Hindu community.
Former MLA Amshekar said the Hindus had voted in large numbers for the Congress after the main opposition party misguided the Hindu society by instilling a fear that the Constitution would be changed. “The Hindu society has now realised the true colours of the Congress,” he said and warned that attempts to paint Hindus with violence will not be tolerated.
