Acting on directives of the high court, the Bastora Panchayat has issued show-cause notices to 27 commercial structures illegally constructed along the road between Tar Junction and Moira Bridge.
The notice has directed the parties concerned to submit their replies to the Panchayat within three days as to why the constructions should not be sealed.
On March 28, the panchayat body convened a meeting which was chaired by Sarpanch Rakhi Naroji. A letter from the Directorate of Panchayats which followed from the order of the High Court taking suo motu cognisance of illegal constructions was discussed at the meeting.
A resolution was then passed to issue show-cause notices to the illegal constructions along the side of the village road.
Accordingly on Tuesday, Bastora Panchayat Secretary Smita Parab issued show-cause notices to 27 constructions between Tar Junction and Moira Bridge in Bastora.
