SANGUEM
The decomposed body of a 56-year-old caretaker from Karnataka but residing in a rented room was found in the locked room at Saudimol-Sanguem.
According to the available information, Suresh Khadakar worked as a caretaker for his current landlord and also did masonry work during his free time. He had been living for the past year in a room behind the house of an elderly couple at Saudimol.
He would occasionally help the elderly couple with their needs or by bringing groceries from the market.
When he was not seen since Monday morning, the couple’s married daughter who lives in Margao went to Sanguem to check on Suresh in his room.
She found the room locked from the inside and a foul smell emanating from the room. She immediately contacted the Sanguem Police Station.
A Sanguem police team along with a fire brigade went to the site and broke open the door. Suresh was lying motionless on the floor.
