GOACAN will observe Child Rights Week from November 14 TO 20 to mobilise citizens to act as defenders of the rights of children in their respective villages and towns. The week will conclude on World Children's Day to highlight the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
GOACAN has identified issues for each day of the week so that consumer forums, village child Committees, consumer welfare clubs and faith based groups among others can address them in the context of the rights of children.
Consumer Literacy, Road Safety, Crimes Against Children, Child Labour, Health, Sanitation and the Convention on the Rights of the Child will be highlighted during the week.
Distribution of IEC materials will be undertaken during the week and proposals on the Rights of Children will be prepared to be submitted for the Gram Sabha meetings to be held on the 21st & 28th November.
