CM calls on job scam victims to come forward and file plaints

Police arrest two more accused; GF pushes for SIT probe

PANAJI

As police intensify crackdown in the ‘jobs-for-cash scam’, the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has appealed to victims of the government job scam to come forward and file complaints.

Speaking to media persons, Sawant said that the home department has started acting in such cases based on various complaints filed so far.

“Now, people have started getting scared to give complaints. I would request them to come forward and register. We will see that action is taken against each and everyone involved,” Sawant said.

On Monday, police arrested two more accused-- Priya Yadav and Deepashri Gawas alias Sawant in connection with a jobs-for-cash scam. More than a dozen people, including an IRB constable, have been arrested in job scam cases, in the last one week.

Meanwhile, the Goa Forward Party Chief and MLA Vijai Sardesai has urged the Chief Minister to immediately constitute a special investigation team (SIT) to probe into the scam.

In a letter to CM, Sardesai has raised concerns over the presence of an organized "Job Mafia" syndicate in the government recruitment systems, compromising fair hiring practices in the state.

"A dedicated Special Investigation Team should be established to investigate the job scam, composed of professionals from outside the state administration to ensure an impartial review," he demanded.

He further demanded that pending the SIT investigation, all ongoing government recruitment processes be put on hold.

Referring to cases like that of Pooja Naik, the MLA said that this isn't just an isolated incident; it suggests a well-organized network undermining the integrity of our recruitment processes.

Sardesai alleges involvement of high-ranking officials and politicians in these corrupt activities
