Alleging that the chief minister Pramod Sawant is interfering in the SIT probing land grab, former GPCC president Girish Chodankar demanded that the SIT should be given free hand and not pressured into going slow in cases involving BJP politicians.
“I have reports that the CM is using SIT probe to pressurise his own Ministers in a bid to save his chair. I am also told that the CM has issued instructions to SIT to go slow in certain cases and act on a few,” Chodankar informed.
When questioned by The Goan whether he is in the know of any land grab case wherein the SIT is going slow, Chodankar said, “I have been following the issue closely for a couple of months now and I have come across three such cases wherein the SIT is not given a free hand due to involvement of BJP politicians. Very soon I will come out with an expose with documentary proof.”
“It was in June that I had first brought it to the notice of the CM about the involvement of a Minister with a demand that the said Minister be dropped. With no action forthcoming, I again raised the issue earlier this month and demanded that the chief minister either announce that none of his Ministers are involved, or sack the said Minister. But the CM has done nothing,” Chodankar added.
