Taking a dig at the Save Mollem activists, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday said it is easy for people to cry for save Mollem from Panaji and London, but his government is committed to uplift the living conditions of the people inhabiting the region.
Saying that he has inaugurated three projects in Mollem on Friday, including the Bio-diversity Park, Bird festival and a bridge linking Mollem and Collem, the Chief Minister said at the Ravindra Bhavan, Margao people tend to say that Mollem is their lungs by sitting at Panaji and London.
“It is easy to say from Panaji and London to save Mollem or Mollem is their lungs, but my government is seriously working in the direction to provide those inhabiting in the region basic amenities such as food, education and power. Today, I came across a family of seven brothers, who told me they have been staying without power for the last several years,” the Chief Minister said, adding that he has told the officials to ensure that power is provided to this family within a period of eight days.
