Coal transportation: AAP leaders detained, CM refuses to meet them <Coal Protest Arrested>

PANAJI

Leaders of Aam Aadmi Party, who marched to the Chief Minister's official residence at Altinho and were sitting in protest there against the proposed coal transportation in Goa, have been detained by Panaji Police for allegedly creating a ruckus and blocking the road.

Visuals from the scene of protest, however, show that protestors were lined up against one side of the road with the police blocking the road later after detaining them.

AAP convenor Rahul Mhambre and leader Venzy Viegas insisted on passing to the CM a bag full of coal and when CM Pramod Sawant refused to come out and meet the protestors, Mhambre stated, "Goans be warned. A CM who is refusing to take a packed bag of coal is soon going to pack tonnes of coal in our lungs."

AAP leaders have now been whisked away to the Panaji Police Station for completing the detention procedure.
