MARGAO
Congress leaders on Thursday vowed to hit ground zero across the State, right up to the village and ward level, to ensure there is no theft of the people’s vote and also expose the bogus votes enrolled in the electoral rolls.

Congress leaders, along with party rank and file, took out a march from the South Goa District Congress office, Margao, protesting against the vote theft and demanding action from the Election Commission of India.

Congress leaders, led by South Goa MP Captain Viriato Fernandes, Congress Working Committee member Girish Chodankar, South Goa District Chief Savio D’Silva, Congress Senior Vice-President M K Sheikh, Everson Vales, Savio Coutinho, Moreno Rebello, Chirag Naik, besides others, participated in the protest march.

Addressing the media, the South Goa MP said that Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi have successfully exposed how bogus voting had helped the BJP to come to power in the 2024 Lok Sabha election. He said the modus operandi only goes to show how the elections were rigged in Haryana and Maharashtra to give the BJP the victory.

“Home Minister Amit Shah had stated in the recent past that the BJP will rule India till 2025. This confidence stems from the irregularities and malpractices committed during the elections,” he said.

The South Goa MP said the Congress and other opposition parties will not remain silent till the Election Commission is booked for the irregularities, further demanding to know why the ruling BJP is leaving no stone unturned to defend the Election Commission of Goa.
