Dayanand Naik and Sukash Desai, both ex-Sarpanchs of Assolda Panchayat along with other Bhandari Samaj leaders joined Aam Aadmi Party on Saturday, in the presence of AAP leader Amit Palekar and Curchorem Assembly in-charge Gabriel Fernandes and AAP joint secretary James Fernandes.
Dayanand Naik said that he joined AAP as he was impressed by AAP national Convenor and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s vision for Goa. “I have seen the work that the AAP has done both in Delhi and the state. This party is clearly working to improve the lives of common people".
"The Congress and the BJP, both national parties have failed to provide basic civic amenities to the citizens. On the other hand Kejriwal announced five guarantees to the Goans", he added.
Sukash Desai said, "Currently, AAP has been receiving an overwhelming response for their Parivartan Yatra. AAP’s Rozgar Yatra has highlighted the true problems of Goan youth in getting jobs. There has been a mass movement from all across the state to support AAP today".
He further said, "Both the national parties ruined the state and the party leaders always worked for their self-development. After 60 years of liberation, still in some parts of the state people have been facing water and electricity issues. I was very impressed by the AAP's announcement on free electricity and thus decided to join the party".
AAP leader Amit Palekar said, "many people from diverse fields have been joining the party and today Bhandari Samaj leaders from Curchorem joined the party. I welcome them into the party. Their joining will strengthen the party".
