Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho on Saturday evening said the Dabolim Verna Flyover project has been tendered and bids would be opened on December 28.
Godinho was speaking to reporters after laying the foundation stone to lay the new 300 mm diameter water pipelines in Jairam Nagar in Dabolim.
"I was in a meeting with Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari on Saturday and I am happy to inform that the new flyover from Dabolim to Verna is already tendered and bids will be opened on December 28,” said Godinho.
“The flyover was to have been taken up from Dabolim to Queeny Nagar in the first phase but I have suggested the flyover be taken till Verna because it can block traffic further on at the many road crossings and there could be accidents.”
Godinho said the new 300 mm diameter water pipeline will be laid as a long-term measure to improve water supply in Jairam Nagar and surrounding areas.
“This work has been taken up at a cost of Rs 1.03 crore and new water pipelines will be laid from the main road till Jairam Nagar to improve water supply," said Godinho.
