Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat on Monday shot down the Union Budget stating that it had absolutely nothing to uplift the common man and the marginalised sector from the huge financial burdens on them after the collapse of the economy following the outbreak of Covid Pandemic.
Kamat criticized the budget while arguing that most of the budget proposals are focused on pro“crony-capitalist schemes.
Following the announcement by the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman of Rs 300 crore grants to Goa government to celebrate 60 years of liberation of the state, Kamat said, “ I demand the Chief Minister to immediately announce a package of Rs 100 crores for the revival of the marginalised sector in Goa.”
