Julius Augstine D’Souza was elected unopposed as panch member in the bye-elections to Ward 4 in the Arpora-Nagoa panchayat.
The post fell vacant following the demise of former sarpanch Agustine (Tino) D’Souza, father of newly elected panch member Julius D’Souza. The bye-election was to be conducted on January 28, but only one application was received for the post and Julius was elected unopposed.
Calangute MLA Michael Lobo, Arpora-Nagoa Sarpanch Roshan Redkar and the panchas later congratulated Julius on his win.
