Ex-employee under scanner in Saligao double murder

PORVORIM
Saligao police have traced the scooter belonging to murder victim Richard D’Mello at the Tivim railway station, even as investigators continue to search for the motive and the number of persons involved in the double murder reported on Thursday.
Saligao police said that Richard D’Mello, owner of a music shop in Saligao, was residing at Nagoa and his staffer, Sonu Singh, was staying in a rented house at Muddo-wado in Saligao.
On the day of the murder, D’Mello had gone to meet Singh at Saligao. On that day, a former employee of Richard D’Mello, who is based in Mumbai, was present in the rented house at Saligao. It is unclear what transpired between the former employee and Singh, but both D’Mello and Singh were murdered some time later.
Police suspect that the former employee may have been involved in the double murder and had fled with D’Mello’s scooter to the Tivim railway station, where he may have proceeded to Mumbai. The scooter was later traced at the Tivim railway station.
Police suspect that more than one person may have been involved in the double murder. Police are still awaiting the autopsy report, as investigations are in progress.
