Fish vendors hit out at Almeida for 'Nustekar Fotting' remark

VASCO

The Vasco fish market issue heated up on Monday after several Vasco fish vendors hit out at Vasco BJP MLA Carlos Almeida for his recent "Nustekar no 1 Fotting" remark.

Spelling to reporters, Vasco Fish Market Association President Caridade Pereira said Almeida had no right to call fish vendors as ‘Fotting’ (liars).

"We have never said anything to him, except maintaining that markets must be taken up as per our requirements and that, the wholesalers and roadside fish vendors have to be cleared before taking up the project. We have not lied and people know everything that we have been very clear," said Pereira.

Another fish vendor accused Almeida of being incapable of taking up the KTC bus stand project for 10 years.

"Almeida should be called a liar as he has not kept his promise of the KTC bus stand for the last ten years and we don't have faith that he can take up our fish market project.”

“This market was built by us after contributing our money and he need not tell us what to do,” said the vendor.
