Fomento Scholars invites applications for engineering course in US

Fomento has initiated the Fomento Scholars programme to give opportunity to deserving talented students from Goa, to pursue high-quality undergraduate engineering education, in the United States of America.

Fomento Scholars Programme Coordinator Uday Ballikar said students of Std XI Science are selected and are helped to take admission at SDSMT USA, for the undergraduate engineering course of their choice.

"The programme was started in 2014 and till date, 30 students have taken education at SDSMT, USA. This institution is known for quality undergraduate engineering education. Programmes of SDSMT help students to bring their all-round development. Students get the opportunity to do internships, and co-op in reputed companies where they learn as well as earn. Students have joined companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Lyft, Freeport-McMoran, Facebook etc,” Ballikar said.

He added: “We seek students having a good academic track record as well as a thirst for knowledge and ability to implement it. The candidates should have a strong bond with Goa and Goans and promise to make the state of Goa proud. Students who are in Std XI Science, during this academic year 2024-2025 with a minimum percentage of 85% at Std X are eligible to apply for Fomento aid to join this college, send your information using email address [email protected]. Information should contain name of the student, percentage at Std X, phone number and email address of student and parent.”

The procedure of selection and other details will be informed to the student through email of the student once we receive the information. Students studying in Std XI Science, in Goa are requested to take benefit of this golden opportunity to join SDSMT in 2026 after they pass their Std XII examination.
