In a significant development to rejuvenate the spiritual sector and enhance connectivity between spiritual cities, Goa has unveiled ambitious plans for the upcoming tourist season, starting next month.
With a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the government and Temple Connect “ an organisation working towards revival and development of the temple ecosystem, Minister for Tourism Rohan Khaunte on Thursday said the collaboration will open new possibilities for spiritual experiences.
“In this coming year, we will touch upon spiritual sectors, and to begin with, a one-day Conclave will be held with all the stakeholders including local influencers, etc. in October. We are also focussing on expanding connectivity between the Uttara Kashi and Dakshin Kashin wherein Goa is a part of the latter. It will facilitate the exchange of domestic and international tourists, exchange culture and traditions between different regions, and enrich the overall spiritual experience for travellers,” he said.
The initial phase of connectivity has emphasized Dehradun, Guwahati, Nagpur, Nashik, Amritsar, Kashi, and Varanasi for tourists.
The Tourism Department will also bring in wellness, homestays, cuisine, and festivities, into this Spiritual circuit.
The minister further said that Goa plans to provide support to Vasco, Margao, Ponda, Panaji, Mapusa, and Bicholim to enhance their appeal as spiritual and cultural destinations.
In addition, discussions are underway on how to take the opportunity of the opening of the Ayodhya Temple to further integrate Goa’s unique culture and traditions with spirituality.
“Goa is eager to welcome tourists from around the world to embark on a spiritual journey fostering a deeper connection between people, places, and spirituality,” the minister added.
