The 41st meeting of the Goa Investment Promotion and Facilitation Board (Goa-IPB) on Wednesday approved 10 new projects entailing a total proposed investment of Rs 445.24 crore, with the ventures expected to generate around 801 jobs in the State.
Chaired by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, who also holds the finance portfolio, the meeting reviewed investment proposals across key sectors, including food processing, logistics and warehousing, manufacturing, packaging, heavy machinery and arms and ammunition manufacturing.
The single largest proposal cleared by the Board is from M/s DJE Leisure & Hospitality Private Limited in the food processing sector at Dharbandora, with an investment of Rs 269.25 crore and a projected employment potential of 249 jobs. Another major proposal is from M/s Syngenta Biosciences Pvt. Ltd. at Corlim in the manufacturing sector, involving Rs 121 crore and generating 60 jobs.
Other approved projects include food processing units in Pissurlem and Honda, logistics and warehousing facilities in Quitol, a packaging unit at Pissurlem, a heavy machinery unit at Tuem, and an arms and ammunition manufacturing unit at Naqueri.
According to officials, the approvals are part of the government’s push to promote sustainable industrial growth while ensuring balanced regional development. The Board reiterated its focus on streamlining procedures, improving inter-departmental coordination and strengthening Goa’s position as an investor-friendly destination.
The other approved projects include: M/s Mystic Barrelz Pvt. Ltd., food processing unit at Pissurlem, with an investment of Rs 6 crore and 192 jobs, M/s Sagturu Ratnakar Dhume, packaging unit at Pissurlem, with Rs 1.17 crore investment and 23 jobs, M/s Balaji Plastics, manufacturing unit at Tuem, with Rs 20.10 crore investment and 61 jobs, M/s Pradeep Tiwari, logistics and warehousing facility at Quitol, with Rs 7.64 crore investment and 70 jobs, M/s Vijayanand Venkatesh Naik, logistics and warehousing unit at Quitol, with Rs 9.08 crore investment and 80 jobs,
M/s Hughes Precision Manufacturing Pvt. Ltd., arms and ammunition manufacturing unit at Naqueri, with Rs 2 crore investment, M/s Tiny Tide Ventures, food processing unit at Honda, with Rs 2 crore investment and 27 jobs and M/s Construx Infra, heavy machinery unit at Tuem, with Rs 7 crore investment and 39 jobs.
