Goa Forward wants CBI probe into 'labour gate' scam

PANAJI
Casting aspersion on the probe by the State investigation agencies, Goa Forward has demanded CBI probe into the alleged "labour gate" scam.

Many senior politicians and bureaucrats have a role in the scam involved in diversion of money meant for construction workers to BJP workers. So the Crime Branch which comes directly under control of Goa police will not be able to investigate properly in the case, said Goa Forward vice-president Durgadas Kamat in a press conference.

He alleged that after the Lokayukta recommendations to investigate in the matter, the Chief Minister delayed for two months to order the probe by Crime Branch.

“Due to this delay, the concerned people may get a chance to destroy evidence,” said Goa Forward vice-president Kamat adding that they still have enough evidence to prove the alleged scam.

The Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had a few days back cleared the file to order probe into the alleged scam in distribution of money to construction workers during Covid times.
