Goa Police place signboards at water bodies in Bicholim

PANAJI: Goa police has put up warning signboards cautioning people against diving and swimming at quarries and other water bodies, warning violators of legal action.

In a message on the social media ‘X’, North Goa SP Akshat Kaushal stated: “The life in front of you is far more important than the life behind you. The general public is warned against diving and swimming in the quarries and if found necessary legal action will be initiated. These quarries are dangerous places with a risk of life.”

Following the drowning of two teenagers, one in a stone quarry at Bhatwadi-Nanora and the other in the Tillari canal at Usap-Nanora, on May 26, Bicholim police placed signboards warning people of the dangers of swimming at these water bodies.
