Goa Tourist Police deny viral parasailing scare, say incident occurred in Malvan

PANAJI: The Goa Tourist Police have clarified that the viral parasailing incident involving a tourist was not reported in the state, stating that it took place at Chivla Beach, in Malvan.

The police added, as per confirmation from the SP North office, that the incident dates back to 2019.

The clarification follows a viral video by Sushmitha Gowrav, a nutritionist, who alleged the incident occurred in Goa and described a near-death experience during a parasailing activity that has garnered over 2.3 million views on Instagram.

She alleged that she fell into the sea during the ride and at one point had a rope tightening around her neck, leaving her in panic before she was rescued.
