The delay in declaring results of final year degree examinations in several streams by the Goa University has earned sharp criticism as it hampers the students in taking their next career leap.
A delegation of the students wing of the Goa Forward Party on Wednesday raised the issue with the Registrar of the Goa University and demanded that the results be declared within a week.
They said they would knock the doors of the courts if the results are not declared in the next eight days.
All the final year exams were completed by mid-June but nearly two months later the results are yet to be compiled and declared, said Uddesh Naik Desai who heads the students wing of Goa Forward Party (GFP) and met the Registrar.
He blamed the delay on the lethargic conduct of the teaching and non-teaching staff of the university, adding that this trend to delay the results beyond two months after the exams are held has been going on for the past several years.
Desai said the Registrar has promised to look into the demand and declared that he would move the courts if the results are not announced within the next eight days as several students who either want to pursue higher studies or compete in the job market face hardship with the Goa University failing to declare their results.
