Goa woman booked for stabbing dog over barking dispute

PANAJI: In a disturbing case of animal cruelty, Vasco police have booked a woman for allegedly stabbing her neighbour’s dog with a knife following a dispute over barking. The incident occurred around 5.30 pm yesterday evening in Pixem Dongri.

Francisco D’souza, a resident of the area, lodged a complaint stating that his neighbour attacked his pet dog, leaving it seriously injured after repeatedly stabbing it during an altercation.

Based on the complaint, an offence has been registered under Section 325 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and Section 11(a) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
