The hundreds of thousands of tourist footfalls in December has augured well for the treasury with the State's December indirect tax mop-up having jumped by nearly 73 per cent over last year.
Official records show Goa's gross GST revenues at Rs 592 crore in December largely owing to the unprecedented inflow of tourists and a bustling hospitality sector throughout the month and particularly the Christmas-New Year week.
Last year, the GST gross revenue in December was Rs 342 crore.
It was marginally lower in November at Rs 518 crore.
