Goa government is exploring the potential of having tie-ups with South Korean industries for setting up an ‘India Korean Industrial Park’ in the State.
For this purpose, the State government has constituted a four-member committee under Principal Secretary Industries for proposing a roadmap for establishing world-class manufacturing industries in Goa.
Under Secretary Industries Vivek Naik said that the committee will explore the possibility of setting up India Korean Industrial Park in the State in partnership with the South Korean Association. He said that the committee will have to get itself engaged with South Korean Industries to establish Goa as a manufacturing hub for innovative technological solutions.
“The committee will also have to assess the resources available with us and our readiness to start such high-tech manufacturing units,” Naik said.
A special purpose vehicle (SPV) or public-private partnership (PPP) for boosting electronic manufacturing in the State will be put in place. The Committee, comprising of Director Industries, Director PPP Cell and Managing Director of Goa Industrial Development Corporation, has to submit its report within a period of three months.
