Govt says will clear welfare amounts by December

Stating that all pending amounts regarding social welfare schemes have been cleared till June, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has assured in the assembly that payments for the Dayanand Samajik Suraksha Scheme (DSSS) and other social schemes would be released by December.

Sawant said the backlog would be cleared in the instalments of two months.

The chief minister was responding to a query from Porvorim Independent MLA Rohan Khaunte who raised the issue of pending dues of the DDSY scheme.

Marcaim’s MGP MLA Sudin Dhavalikar had raised the issue that crimes are occurring in the State due to financial reasons.

Sawant said bills of contractors have been cleared till June and added that no bills prior to this period had been pending with departments and corporations.

RECRUITMENTS: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said 8,000 jobs have been advertised so far, while an additional 2,000 jobs would be advertised soon. “All 10,000 recruitments will be completed by December,” he said.
